STEM CELLS

All living organisms with a cellular structure have a build in repair mechanism. Those cells involved in the repair of damaged tissues and organs are stem cells. Stem cells are naturally attracted to sites of injury; this is called "homing," resulting in that they together with other signaling cells initiate the repair of damaged tissues.
